Hey there,
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me. My name is Brya (Bre-ya) Hanan, and I am a wife, mother of two, devoted Catholic-Christian, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Inner Child work Coach, and most importantly, child of God.
Being a child of God is very important to me because, for most of my childhood, I couldn’t experience this truth. I was a child of my wounds.
At the age of eight, when my family and I entered the Catholic Church, I discovered a new world where love seemed to reach the deepest and darkest corners of my heart, but unbeknownst to me, it wouldn’t seem to stay there. There was something inside of me rejecting it, and who felt too ashamed and mistrusting to receive it.
When I started to learn more about psychology, attachment theory, the nervous system, and trauma and integrate it into my healing work with God, I started to witness true change and transformation. It all seemed to click. The reason I couldn’t fully heal and experience God’s love, wasn’t because something was wrong with me, rather, my trauma, attachment injuries, and complex grief were disrupting God’s healing work.
As a result, I started developing language, tools, and resources to address this so that our inner world can be something we can easily access, compassionately understand, befriend, and safely bring to God to heal.
I am very grateful for the work I do and the model I have been able to co-create with God. It has been fulfilling and freeing. It gives me the opportunity to live as God’s child and experience it as my core identity.
When I am not working as a therapist and developing resources for people, you can find me exploring the great outdoors, dancing, singing, laughing, writing, and creating.
If you are interested in learning more about me, I encourage you to please fill out an interest form for a consultation. I would love to answer any questions you might have to see if I would be a good fit for what you need most.
With love,
Brya
